The Trail is ridden each year by riders from at least 8 different states and is one of the last true adventures in Texas today. The Original Texas Star Trail from Fredericksburg, Texas, is a weeklong trail-riding event starting around the first week of March in each year.
Original Texas Star Trail The ride covers a route used by former settlers when they needed to go to the Texas capital in Austin. The trail still has some of the wagon tracks left by former travelers.
Beginning of the Ride The ride proceeds to Luckenbach, where an official Trail Ride dance is held for the riders in the dance hall with traditional music. The next day, the ride heads for Stonewall with a camp at Burges's Corner, with activities in the afternoon.
The Trail Continues The ride proceeds along the banks of the Pedernales River through the ranch of our late President Lyndon B. Johnson, with a tour of the Texas White House at the first morning break. Camp that evening is at the Five Hands Ranch, a ranch just south of Johnson City, on Flat Creek Rd.
